CHECK THE AXS APP
The AXS App is your one-stop shop for determining if your bike is ready to ride. Simply open the app to view your bike’s status. If you see green, you’re good to go. If not, tap on your bike card to view each component’s status. The solution will be as simple as swapping a battery or updating firmware.
CHECK YOUR AXS BATTERIES
Just as you may need a morning coffee before you hop on the bike, your AXS batteries may need a little juice before a big ride. Check your derailleur battery status, charge if needed, and ride without worry. Plus, you can easily swap batteries between front and rear derailleurs mid-ride should one go flat.
CHECK YOUR SHIFTER BATTERIES
The LED on the inside of your shift paddles lights up every time you shift to indicate the battery status of your shifters. Green means you’re good to go, while red means it’s time to replace the battery. The coin cell battery inside each of your shifters lasts up to two years, and thankfully they’re easy to swap when the time comes. Just roll back your hood cover and use a quarter or large coin to open the battery hatch by turning counterclockwise. With the new battery installed, make sure to align the arrows when carefully closing the hatch to avoid crushing the battery contacts. We recommend carrying a spare CR2032 battery in your flat kit in case of emergency.
CHECK YOUR BIKE COMPUTER
If any of your derailleur or shifter batteries are low, you’ll receive a notification right on your Karoo or ANT+ bike computer screen.
TECH TIP: If your batteries are all green but your bike stops shifting, your AXS system may need to be re-paired. Pairing your AXS components together only takes a few minutes and is necessary for the proper communication between your shifters and derailleurs to actuate shift commands. Pairing is also required whenever you add a new component, and it allows your bike status to be viewable in the AXS App and your Hammerhead Karoo.
