Overview


The Senior Product Designer - Apparel role is a high level apparel position responsible for the full lifecycle of product within the Velocio line. In-depth process from ideation, materials, prototyping, testing & collaboration with our manufacturing partners to improve existing and innovate on next generation product are the core of this work.

Responsibilities


  • Design, develop and iterate on styles within the Velocio collection
  • Own styles, categories, collections within the Velocio line
  • Full lifecycle: Concepting, Design, Materials, Tech pack development, prototyping, testing/fitting, collaboration with PLM on forecasting/costing
  • Collaboration with materials suppliers and manufacturing partners to manage development timelines and keep GTM on schedule
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, sales & content teams to align with product go-live planning
  • Own end to end design & development of SMU, Limited Edition, Collab, Custom projects

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in apparel/textile design or related field
  • 5+ years of design experience in the outdoor apparel industry, preferably high-performance outerwear, cycling or MTB apparel
  • Highly creative and iterative approach
  • Willingness to own projects and pursue innovation
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Collaborative, Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Deep understanding of trend, function, aesthetic and how product relates to brand
  • First-hand Cycling/MTB market experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Understanding of targets as they relate to product line
  • Understanding of target costing and impact on margin/retail pricing
  • Ability to travel internationally to visit suppliers, manufacturing partners
  • Ability to travel domestically to meet with Velocio teams
  • The salary range is $100,000 + up to 30% (Canadian Dollars) based on skills and experience level. This position is eligible for an annual corporate bonus based on company and individual performance.
