Fem van Empel did it again: three back-to-back CX World Championships victories. The Women’s Elite race was one to remember, as Fem battled against runner-up, Lucinda Brand, all the way to the finish line. Van Empel was prepared for this neck-and-neck duel against Brand, who had an unforgettable season this year, finishing on the podium in every race and winning the CX World Cup. The two riders traded off the lead with just a minute to spare, when van Empel was able to take charge into the final road section, securing her third title.
