Life

It was her first season back on the road. She was sick. And she had never raced Paris-Roubaix Femmes before. But after a career of extraordinary achievements, it's clear that Pauline Ferrand-Prévot is always a threat for victory. The French superstar with Team Visma Lease a Bike attacked a select group with 25 km to go, bridged to Emma Norsgaard, then went solo on the Camphin-en-Pévèle secteur, entering the Roubaix velodrome alone. SD Worx-Protime's Lorena Wiebes won the sprint for third, a well-deserved podium spot for a team that animated the race.

In the men's race. Lidl-Trek's Mads Pedersen blew up the race early, then punctured out of the winning move. He recovered from the disappointment to sprint to third in the velodrome, just ahead of Visma's Wout van Aert.

Ferrand-Prévot and Pedersen, like all SRAM athletes at Roubaix, raced on RED AXS with 1x chainrings. 1x improves chain retention, crucial for the punishing cobbles, while still providing all the range needed for a flat race like Roubaix. The RED AXS rear derailleur features an Orbit chain damper for better chain retention, and is compatible with both 2x and 1x configurations. PFP combined a 52T chainring with a 10-33 cassette, while Pedersen used a 56T ring and 10-28 cassette.

Her victory in Paris-Roubaix Femmes is another monumental highlight in Ferrand-Prévot's career, as she'll add the cobblestone trophy to her collection of world championships in road, cyclocross, gravel, MTB XCC, XCO, and marathon, as well as her MTB Olympic gold in 2024. And she's not done yet: her main goal is the Tour de France Femmes. It's going to be an incredible summer.
