MOVISTAR TEAM steps back to the future with TIME Pedals in 2024. Riders on the men’s, women’s gravel and esports teams will depend on TIME’s pro-proven lineup of XPRO road pedals for the upcoming season. The partnership is part of TIME’s resurgent presence at road cycling’s highest level, UCI WorldTeams. Riders on Lidl-Trek (men and women’s) and women’s teams Canyon//SRAM Racing and Team SD Worx also ride TIME Pedals.

Having top pros on TIME Pedals is critical to its strategy since being acquired by SRAM in 2021. Working with top teams is essential to making TIME the trusted leader in pedal technology, dependability, and fit. The partnership with MOVISTAR TEAM is particularly significant given the two organizations’ impressive and intertwined histories. MOVISTAR TEAM boasts an impressive roster for 2024 including Nairo Quintana, Enric Mas, and Liane Lippert.

SRAM Racing’s tech team attended MOVISTAR TEAM camp last fall and regularly consults with the team as it transitions its riders to TIME’s lightweight lineup of XPRO pedals. Jason Phillips, director of SRAM Racing-Road, said most riders opted for the two-carbon blade configuration kit instead of the single-carbon blade in pedals leaving the TIME factory. The upgrade kit (available for sale) allows for the greater pedal tension preferred by many pros, especially larger riders, and sprinters. Phillips added that MOVISTAR TEAM riders ride the TIME XPRO 10, 12, and ultralight 15 models.

“The riders especially noticed TIME pedals’ efficient power transfer from its design and wide platform,” said Phillips, adding: “When we were changing the team over to TIME, MOVISTAR’s team’s leadership was aware of TIME’s history with the team, especially with Miguel Indurain.”

TIME partnered with the legendary Spanish team during its ascendance to the top of cycling in the 1980s and 90s. Under the squad names Reynolds and Banesto, the team achieved historic victories riding the iconic TIME 50.1 Racing pedal, including Miguel Indurain’s record five consecutive Tour de France victories.
