Queen of the Ardennes Classics
Demi Vollering's Triple Crown
Demi Vollering's victories at all three of the Ardennes classics earned her a historic hat-trick in just one week of racing. She's the second woman ever to wear the Ardennes Triple crown. Wins at Liege-Bastogne-Liege, La Fleche Wallonne, and Amstel Gold brought her tally of WorldTour triumphs to four so far this spring for Team SD Worx.
In a sprint finish, Vollering bested Elisa Longo Borghini at the Liege-Bastogne-Liege line. Her teammate Marlen Reusser rounded out the La Doyenne podium to continue Team SD Worx's strong spring campaign, while SRAM athletes secured every spot of the top ten.
At 26 years old, Vollering follows in the footsteps of Team SD Worx sports director Anna van der Breggen, who also achieved the Ardennes Triple in 2017. The two Dutchwomen shared many successes over the years as teammates.
Vollering now looks to carry on the legacy left by van der Breggen. She is off to a smashing start this season with four wins in six races, which puts her in the purple jersey as the leader in the Women's WorldTour.
