Marianne Vos (NED) of CCC-Liv Team and reigning world champ, Anna van der Breggen (NED) are expected to battle it out as the Elite Women’s race favorites. Vos comes to the race as the higher-ranked of the two with a big win at La Course and GC wins at the Tour de l’Ardeche and Tour of Norway. Perhaps most importantly, she’s also bagged the GC at this year’s Tour of Yorkshire. But 2015 world champ, Lizzie Deignan is looking to prove that she’s back in top form while performing for her hometown fans in Otley as she races by.
Yet, this super stacked field also includes SRAM-backed Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team members Amalie Dideriksen (2018 world champ) and Chantal Blaak (2017 world champ) that are looking to win back the rainbow stripes. Chloé Dygert Owen (USA) was unstoppable at the Colorado Classic this year sweeping every stage of the race. This commanding performance makes the young rider the dark horse to watch.
CANYON//SRAM Racing is sure to be a factor in both the road race and TTT. Kasia Niewiadoma (POL) and Lisa Klein (GER) are both having an outstanding season. While Alice and Hannah Barnes are looking to impress their home country fans.

Trek-Segafredo Women @Velofocus
Both the women and men of Trek-Segafredo are having a strong year. Multi-time world champ Ellen van Dijk (NED) is always a threat in the TT, and Giulio Ciccone’s (ITL) two days in the yellow jersey at this year’s Tour de France put him in the spotlight as well.

In the Elite Men’s race, Team KATUSHA ALPECIN’s Ruben Guerreiro of Portugal and Nils Politt of Germany delivered strong performances at the Vuelta a Espana and Tour of Britain respectively. Politt is rapidly climbing the WorldTour ranks and worlds offers another opportunity for the tall German to shine.
Young UK star, Tom Pidcock is primed to win the U23 road race after earning rainbow stripes once already this year at cross worlds. Defending U23 TT champ, Mikkel Bjerg (NED) of Hagens Berman Axeon is the time trial race favorite.
